New Website 2012/13

Hey Guys,

As I said in my speech on Tuesday, I've set up this topic for you all to have some input into what the new website will be like.

Please post anything new you think the new website should have or anything the current one has you think should be kept or changed or got rid of.

No ideas are stupid so suggest-away.

I'm planning on designing the new site over Easter and then making it over Easter/Summer so it will be live for the start of next year at the latest.

I'll be keeping the current forum (accounts etc) but please suggest any improvements.

Things I have already thought of are:

- 'Gallery' page for all photos from different events/outings
- More graphics/pictures on the site
- Increased publicity for the site/forum
- Better looking forum design
- Polls for gigs/bands/competitions/questions
- actual web address (not smelly .tk but actual .co.uk)

What do you all think?

I highly support all those suggestions. Especially the gallary =D

Some kinda gig calendar on the front page, perhaps?

We do have a calendar link from the current website, but it's only as good as the social sec who (has recently been forgetting to) updates it...

In that case, keep it for the new website

The calendar definitely needs to be updated regularly and made more obvious, maybe even moving it to the home page if possible. Definitely agree with all of Toms ideas too. Looking forward to seeing how this turns out!
