| We'll be holding elections for next year's exec during pre-Crash on Saturday 16th February (Week 6). Comment on this thread to nominate yourself for one or more positions!
The positions are:
President: Figurehead for the society, manages the rest of the exec. The president will be the main contact between the society and the SU
Vice President: Second in command, runs the society in the President's absence
Social Sec: In charge of getting people to the pub on a weekly basis, as well as organising our various other socials and keeping members informed of what's going on in the society
Treasurer: The person who monitors and controls the flow of money in the society, including managing contracts with our sponsors
Gig Organiser: Responsible for booking and liaising between bands and venues, as well and booking equipment for gigs
Publicity: Makes all our promotional material for events and the society as a whole, and tries to encourage new members to join
Merchandise: In charge of taking orders, purchasing and selling all RockSoc merch
IT: Updates and maintains the website and forum
Secretary: Does all the admin work. We don't really need this position, but Silkie's decided to enforce it.
Deadline for nominations: Wednesday 13th February
Nominations are now closed, candidates are:
Pres - Andy, Joe
VP - Miro, Rob, Nathan
Treasurer - Eddie
Social - Alice & Aneese
Gigs - Rob
Merch - Nathan
Publicity - Kerry
IT - Hannah

| I was thinking, if no one else runs for gig organizer, Alice and Aneese can kind of split social sec and gig organizer between them, considering gigs are social based anyway? xxx | |

| Pro-tip: you don't have to like the bands you're booking for the society, as long as you're pretty sure that other people will | |

| That's a fair point, but yh, i think what i'm really trying to say is that no, I do not want to run for gig organiser as well. Not at all. | |

| Na, I don't mean run for gig organizer, more just if no one else runs for it considering there'd be 2 social exec they can pretty much do gig organizer as well as the social exec role. It is pretty much the same thing, organizing socials and organizing gigs. If no one wants to run for gig organizer at all it'll still need to be done. | |

| I know I'm virtually anonymous (or known just as Joe's sister) but I was considering running for Publicity? As far as I know, nobody else is running for this position (yet). | |

| Strictly speaking, you're still obliged to make a speech - the normal practice is to have someone give it on your behalf. Since you're running unopposed it doesn't matter as much, unless you think people would vote for RON over someone who can't even be bothered having someone else read their speech | |

| I'll run for secretary but only if no one else wants to, cos I can't guarantee I'll be here next year yet. I don't mind doing it to just third term though if there really is no one else that wants to x | |
